A simple concept. The first tenant of our logo. The first phase in all aspects of our work. And - we've found - the first step towards any/all efforts concerning sustainability practices.
It needs to start with each and every one of us. So please. Stop. THINK. and make the effort. How we impact the planet is the key to our collective future.
That said, CCW is committed to promoting sustainable practices in all areas of our business and offer sustainable solutions to our clients wherever and whenever possible: |
|
WALK THE TALK – If we don't do it, we can't rightly expect anyone else to. In other words, we practice what we preach. With so many companies attempting to "greenwash" themselves, we believe it's important to be honest and realistic about our efforts.
USE LESS – The less you use the less you generate. Simple, right? But it takes some thinking. For example, we limit printed copies of documents, maximize natural light sources, use CFL light bulbs, eliminate bottled water, plastic utensils and paper plates. We also encourage alternative work schedules and working remotely whenever possible to limit gas consumption. A little more effort sure, but a lot more efficient.
USE AGAIN – We actively recycle and support using recycled goods – including recycled paper for all our printed documents. For our clients, we maximize the use of rented, recycled and green materials and solutions – including using FSC certified materials, recommending solar-powered stages and reconfigured scenic rentals.
EDUCATE – Great ideas are simply that if they aren't shared and implemented. We're committed to ongoing awareness and education of our staff and clients through the CCW Sustainability Task Force. Additionally, CCW seeks out and works with partners that have commitment to sustainability and sustainable solutions.
PASS IT ON – also known as Share the Love. We certainly jump started our sustainability efforts by absorbing best practices from both our client and vendor partners and will continue to make every effort to share any knowledge or wisdom we discover. After all, we're in this together.
LATEST ENDEAVORS - CCW recently held a company-wide Jeans Drive to help support del Sol School’s Blue to Green project. The school collected jeans to donate to New Orleans housing devastated by Hurricane Katrina, using the jeans as an alternate green method of insulation as opposed to traditional fiberglass. A total of 500 jeans would insulate one house. With CCW’s help, del Sol collected 1,026 pairs. For more information about the project, please visit www.dailybreeze.com. |
